India's Green Hydrogen Mission: Significant Developments Announced
The Government of India is making substantial progress in its National Green Hydrogen Mission, aiming to position India as a leader in the green hydrogen sector globally. Key initiatives under the mission include awarding 3,000 MW per annum electrolyser manufacturing capacity and 8,62,000 tonnes per annum green hydrogen production capacity. Additionally, large-scale projects for green ammonia production and supply to numerous fertilizer units have been launched, alongside substantial allocations for oil corporations. Pilot projects are also underway in steel production, hydrogen vehicles, and fuel infrastructure. The government is actively encouraging states to update their policies to support these initiatives, marking a comprehensive approach to fostering a green hydrogen economy.
