India's Impressive Satellite Launch Record Sparks Growth in Space Economy

India has significantly expanded its capabilities in the satellite launch market over the past two decades. Between January 2004 and November 2025, the country launched 429 foreign satellites and 79 domestic satellites. New Space India Limited (NSIL), formed in 2019 as the commercial arm of ISRO, has generated INR 2572 Crore in revenue from launch services between FY 2019-20 and FY 2024-25. Despite spending INR 1985 Crore over the same period, NSIL continues to maintain a competitive presence in the global market.
