India's Industrial Production Grows 1.2% in May 2025

India's Index of Industrial Production (IIP) recorded a year-on-year growth of 1.2% in May 2025, driven primarily by a 2.6% increase in the manufacturing sector. The IIP stands at 156.6, up from 154.7 in May 2024. Key contributors to growth include basic metals, machinery, and non-metallic mineral products. However, mining and electricity sectors saw declines of 0.1% and 5.8%, respectively. The release of the IIP for June 2025 is scheduled for July 28, 2025.
