The Government of India has launched the National Quantum Mission (NQM) with a budget of ₹6003.65 crore over eight years, establishing four Thematic Hubs focusing on Quantum Computing, Communication, Sensing, and Materials. The Quantum Computing T-Hub at IISc Bengaluru involves 30 researchers and 21 institutions, aiming to develop indigenous capabilities in quantum technologies. Key projects include superconducting qubits and quantum algorithms, with a goal to create intermediate scale quantum computers over three timelines. The initiative also supports startups in the quantum sector.
