India's Nuclear Sector Reforms to Boost Rare Earth Development

In a recent Lok Sabha Question Hour, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh outlined how nuclear sector reforms, including measures under the Shanti Act, will enhance the development of Rare Earth Elements (REE) in India. The government has opened opportunities in mining and processing of rare earth minerals by involving private players, thus bolstering India's strategic and industrial sectors. Dr. Singh also announced the commissioning of India's first rare earth permanent magnet plant and revealed exploration efforts in several Indian states to boost rare earth production and self-reliance.
