India's ODOP Initiative Promotes Local Products Nationwide

The Indian government's One District One Product (ODOP) initiative aims to promote at least one local product from each district across the nation. Since its inception, the program has identified over 1,243 products from 775 districts in sectors such as textiles, agriculture, food processing, and handicrafts. Various strategies, including domestic exhibition participation, e-commerce onboarding, and international promotions through Indian Missions and exhibitions, have been employed to boost these products' visibility and exports. Additionally, the District as Export Hub initiative supports identifying products with export potential in each district, ensuring comprehensive regional development. This update was shared by Dr. Sukanta Majumdar in the Lok Sabha.
