India's Orange Economy to Flourish with AVGC Sector Expansion

The Government of India has announced significant strides in strengthening the orange economy by expanding its initiatives in the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) sector. As part of the Union Budget 2026-27, plans include setting up AVGC Content Creator Labs (CCLs) in 15,000 schools and 500 colleges nationwide, with an allocated budget of ₹ 250 Crore. The Indian Institute of Creative Technologies in Mumbai will spearhead these efforts, aiming to foster skills and position India as a global content creation hub. Alongside, the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit 2025 facilitated international collaboration, boosting media-tech startups through the WaveX Startup Accelerator Programme.
