India's PM JANMAN Initiative Enhances Tribal Services
In response to a Lok Sabha inquiry, the Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Shri Durgadas Uikey, reported on the progress of the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya MahaAbhiyaN (PM JANMAN). Launched in 2023, the initiative aims to improve living conditions for 75 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) across 18 states and one Union Territory in India. The mission focuses on providing housing, clean water, education, health services, and infrastructure. Implementation involves multiple ministries and is supplemented by initiatives like Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0. Progress reports from various districts have been included in the Lok Sabha response.
