India's Semiconductor Innovation Boosted by DLI Scheme

The Indian government has approved 23 chip-design projects under the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) Scheme to enhance semiconductor design capabilities. Vervesemi Microelectronics, a key player, is set to launch advanced integrated circuits aimed at achieving semiconductor self-reliance. Their roadmap includes various Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs) targeting sectors like aerospace, energy, and motor control, with production expected by late 2026 to early 2027. The initiative aims to reduce import dependence and position India as a leader in global semiconductor design.
