India's Telecom Sector Growth through Significant Government Measures
The Indian government has implemented numerous measures to strengthen the country's telecom sector, resulting in significant growth in digital infrastructure. Key initiatives include easier regulations for spectrum usage, increased foreign investment allowances, and the expansion of optical fiber networks and mobile connectivity. These efforts have quadrupled wireless data consumption and nearly doubled broadband subscriptions from 2018 to 2025. To further ensure widespread digital access, the government is also pushing projects aimed at improving connectivity in rural and remote areas under the 'Digital Bharat Nidhi' scheme.
