Infrastructure Development for Indian Judiciary

The Ministry of Law and Justice is enhancing the Indian Judiciary's infrastructure through the e-Courts project and the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS). The e-Courts project, initiated in 2007, aims to digitize court processes and improve access for lawyers and litigants. Phase III of the project, approved in 2023, has a budget of ₹7,210 crore, focusing on digitization and case management. The CSS has released over ₹12,101 crore since 1993, significantly increasing the number of court halls and residential units. The e-Filing system and various digital services are also being implemented to streamline judicial processes.
