The scheme provides financial support for Senior Citizen Homes and aims to ensure welfare through shelter, nutrition, and healthcare. Model Guidelines for Retirement Homes have been established to protect the rights of senior citizens, and the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, applies to these homes to ensure transparency and accountability in the real estate sector.
