INS Nistar Arrives in Singapore for Exercise Pacific Reach 2025
The Indian Navy's Diving Support Vessel (DSV), INS Nistar, made its first port call at Changi Naval Base, Singapore, on September 14, 2025, to participate in the multinational Exercise Pacific Reach 2025. Commissioned on July 18, 2025, INS Nistar exemplifies India's self-reliance in shipbuilding with over 80% indigenisation. The exercise, involving over 40 nations, will focus on submarine rescue operations and will be conducted in two phases: harbour and sea. The harbour phase includes discussions and exchanges on submarine rescue systems, while the sea phase will involve rescue operations in the South China Sea.
