Integrative Rehabilitation for Persons with Disabilities

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, through the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), has partnered with the Ministry of AYUSH to promote integrative rehabilitation for persons with disabilities (PwDs). This collaboration includes research projects leveraging traditional Indian healing practices such as Ayurveda and Yoga to enhance the quality of life for PwDs. Key initiatives include establishing research centers, integrating Ayurvedic treatments for blood disorders, and studying the impact of Yoga on well-being. A total of Rs. 5.26 Crore has been allocated for these projects, aligning with national and global disability care frameworks.
