International Tourists to India Hit New High Post-Pandemic
In 2024, international tourist arrivals in India are projected to reach 20.57 million, surpassing pre-pandemic levels. This marks a substantial recovery and growth from the 6.33 million arrivals in 2020 during the pandemic's peak. Despite no specific study by the Ministry of Tourism, the UN Tourism Barometer highlights India's significant strides compared to other Southeast Asian countries, with Malaysia being the only nation in the region with a higher growth rate. The Ministry of Tourism has actively promoted India through numerous international exhibitions, media tours, and social media to boost tourism.
