Investigation Ordered for Air India Boeing 787-8 Fuel Control Issue

On February 2, 2026, an Air India Boeing 787-8 flight from London Heathrow to Bengaluru was grounded due to a reported issue with the left Fuel Control Switch. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) mandated the inspection and testing of the switch in collaboration with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and concluded that the switch was functioning correctly. Nevertheless, further inspection at the OEM facility in the presence of DGCA officers has been directed.
