The Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) has successfully facilitated the transportation of a significant Over Dimensional Cargo (ODC), weighing 189.260 metric tonnes, crucial for Assam's semiconductor ecosystem. The cargo journeyed from Diamond Harbour through the Indo-Bangladesh Protocol Route to reach Pandu in Guwahati, ultimately destined for Tata Semiconductor Assembly in Morigaon. This initiative underscores the role of inland waterways as a cost-effective and eco-friendly logistics solution for specialized cargo.
