IWAI to Host Consultative Workshop on National Waterway 1

The Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) is set to organize a Consultative Workshop in Patna on June 16, 2025, focusing on the development of Inland Waterways Transport on National Waterway 1 (River Ganga). Chaired by Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, the workshop aims to discuss the growth of cargo movement over the past 11 years across Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. The Jal Marg Vikas Project (JMVP) will be highlighted for its role in enhancing waterway transport efficiency and connectivity in the region.
