Jan Vishwas Bill 2026 Passed, Eases Regulatory Environment

The Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2026, which aims to enhance Ease of Doing Business and Ease of Living, has been passed by both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. This legislation decriminalizes 717 provisions and amends 67 others across 79 Central Acts, administered by 23 ministries, marking a significant step toward reduced compliance burdens for individuals and businesses. The Select Committee chaired by Shri Tejasvi Surya recommended additional decriminalizations across 62 Central Acts after extensive consultations.
