January 2026 Sees 4.8% Growth in Index of Industrial Production

The Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation reported a 4.8% growth in the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) for January 2026 compared to January 2025. This increase is primarily driven by a 4.8% growth in the Manufacturing sector and a 5.1% rise in the Electricity sector. The report highlights significant contributions from the manufacture of basic metals, motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, and other non-metallic mineral products.
