Keezhadi Excavation Update from Ministry of Culture

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has not requested a revised report on the Keezhadi excavations from the Tamil Nadu State Department of Archaeology. Since 2018, the Tamil Nadu department has been conducting excavations without funding from ASI, which provides permission and technical support as needed. This information was shared by Union Minister for Culture and Tourism, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, in a Lok Sabha reply.
