Kisan Sarathi: Revolutionizing Agricultural Advisory Services in India
Kisan Sarathi, launched in July 2021, is India's largest integrated digital agro-advisory platform designed to provide farmers across India with timely and authentic advisories in multiple languages, alongside access to relevant schemes, weather updates, and consultations. The platform is a joint initiative by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology and the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, leveraging the Interactive Information Dissemination System (IIDS) for effective two-way communication between farmers and experts. With extensive reach, Kisan Sarathi integrates over 730 Krishi Vigyan Kendras, 100 ICAR institutes, and 65 agricultural universities, transforming the conventional advisory service ecosystem by delivering real-time, region-specific advice and enabling farmers to engage directly with agricultural experts.
