Kosi Mechi River Link Project Approved
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the Kosi Mechi Intra-State Link Project in Bihar under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana. The project aims to remodel the Eastern Kosi Main Canal and extend it to the Mechi River, providing irrigation to 2.15 lakh hectares and contributing to flood mitigation. The estimated cost is ₹6,282.32 crore, with completion expected by March 2029.
