KVIC Trains Artisans in Agarbatti Making Across India

The Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, through the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), is actively engaging artisans across India, including Karnataka, through specialized training programs in the operation and maintenance of agarbatti machines. These programs are part of the Agro Based and Food Processing Industry (ABFPI) initiative under GVY. During the training, artisans receive necessary raw materials and, upon successful completion, are provided with agarbatti machines to aid their livelihood. Additionally, KVIC establishes market linkages to facilitate the sale of artisan-made agarbattis, utilizing platforms such as Khadi Institutions, exhibitions, and online shops. Between 2021 and 2025, various states have received different numbers of machines to support this initiative.
