Labour Force Participation and Workforce Metrics Remain Mostly Stable in January 2026

According to the Periodic Labour Force Survey by NSO, MoSPI, the Labour Force Participation Rate (LFPR) for individuals aged 15 and above held steady at 55.9% in January 2026, with slight variations observed in rural and urban areas. The Female LFPR remained unchanged at 35.1%. The Worker Population Ratio (WPR) slightly declined to 53.1%, while the Unemployment Rate (UR) rose modestly to 5.0%. These changes are primarily driven by seasonal factors in rural areas. Urban workforce metrics remained broadly unchanged.
