The Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Shri Jual Oram, announced the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) in Rajya Sabha, aimed at benefiting nearly 5 crore tribal people by addressing infrastructural gaps and improving access to healthcare, education, Anganwadi facilities, and livelihood opportunities. The initiative targets 63,843 tribal villages across 26 states and 4 Union Territories, with implementation scheduled from October 2, 2024, to March 31, 2029. The program includes 25 interventions by 17 ministries, with a robust monitoring mechanism established for real-time evaluation and progress assessment.
