Launch of Fifth Fast Patrol Vessel 'Achal' by Goa Shipyard Ltd
The Indian Coast Guard's fifth Fast Patrol Vessel (FPV), named 'Achal', was launched on June 16, 2025, by Goa Shipyard Ltd. The vessel, measuring 52 meters and featuring over 60% indigenous content, is designed for protection, monitoring, and surveillance. It can reach speeds of 27 knots and was built at a cost of Rs 473 crore, contributing to local industry and employment.
