Launch of National Initiative on Water Security
Union Ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Chandrakant Raghunath Patil launched the National Initiative on Water Security, mandating a portion of MGNREGA funds for water conservation. In over-exploited blocks, 65% of funds will be allocated for water-related works, while 40% in semi-critical blocks and at least 30% in others. This initiative aims to address groundwater depletion and enhance water management in rural areas, benefiting future generations and agriculture.
