Launch of Paryatan Mitra/Paryatan Didi Initiative by Ministry of Tourism

The Ministry of Tourism has launched a national responsible tourism initiative named Paryatan Mitra/Paryatan Didi, aimed at training local service providers in various tourist destinations across India. The initiative focuses on enhancing awareness about tourism, cleanliness, safety, and sustainability, targeting marginalized communities and women. Since its rollout on August 15, 2024, over 4,000 individuals have been trained in six pilot locations. Additionally, the Ministry of Defence is promoting the Bharat Rannbhoomi Darshan initiative to enhance tourism at historical battlefields, ensuring safety and public awareness.
