The Government of India has launched the third round of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Specialty Steel, aimed at boosting investment and innovation in high-grade steel production. Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy announced that over ₹43,800 crore has been committed, with nearly 31,000 jobs generated under previous rounds. The new phase, PLI 1.2, focuses on advanced steel categories and aims to strengthen India's position in the global steel market, aligning with the vision of a self-reliant and competitive manufacturing sector by 2047.
