Launch of PM-eBus Sewa Scheme to Improve Urban Transport with 10,000 Electric Buses

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has launched the PM-eBus Sewa Scheme to bolster the urban transport system by deploying 10,000 air-conditioned electric buses across cities with populations of 3-40 lakhs. The initiative aims to enhance public transport systems and promote e-mobility in participating cities. The project offers 100% financial support for Behind-the-Meter power infrastructure and has already approved over 200 infrastructure proposals. The scheme involves a substantial budget for infrastructure development and is expected to generate direct employment for 45,000 to 55,000 individuals.
