Launch of Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan for PVTG Communities

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs, led by Union Minister of State Shri Durgadas Uikey, has announced the launch of the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM JANMAN). This initiative aims at the socio-economic upliftment of 75 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) across 18 states and one Union Territory over a three-year period. The programme includes provisions for essential amenities such as safe housing, clean water, healthcare, and educational opportunities, as well as improved connectivity and electrification. Collaborative efforts from 9 different ministries will drive 11 specific interventions to achieve these goals. A key component of the scheme involves deploying Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) to extend primary healthcare services, including child immunizations, through a revised target of 750 MMUs under the National Health Mission.
