The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has launched the Swachh Shehar Jodi (SSJ) initiative, a mentorship program pairing 72 mentor cities with around 200 mentee cities to enhance urban waste management practices. This initiative aims to foster knowledge sharing and best practices in sanitation, with nearly 300 cities signing MoUs to kickstart the program. The SSJ is part of the Swachh Bharat Mission and emphasizes collaborative action to improve urban sanitation outcomes across India.
