Launch of Swadesh Darshan 2.0 Scheme by Ministry of Tourism

The Ministry of Tourism has revamped the Swadesh Darshan scheme into Swadesh Darshan 2.0 (SD2.0) to promote sustainable tourism in India. Initially launched in 2014-15, the scheme has sanctioned 76 projects worth ₹5290.30 Crore. Under the new SD2.0, 52 projects have been approved for ₹2108.87 Crore, along with 36 projects under the Challenge Based Destination Development (CBDD) sub-scheme for ₹648.10 Crore. The initiative aims to enhance tourist experiences across various states, focusing on rural and border areas.
