Livelihood Programmes for Tribals in Assam Strengthened by Ministry of Tribal Affairs

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs, through its agencies TRIFED and NSTFDC, is boosting tribal entrepreneurship and livelihoods in Assam. Since 2019, 495 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras have been set up with a budget of Rs. 7425 lakhs, engaging over 1.5 lakh members. TRIFED is fostering market access for tribal artisans, establishing sales channels in Assam. The NSTFDC is offering financial aid to tribal entrepreneurs and students. Rs. 64.26 lakhs have been disbursed to support 64 beneficiaries in Assam.
