This initiative provides comprehensive support to rural enterprises by improving training and skilling, fostering export-oriented growth, and generating linkages across value chains. Furthermore, it focuses on creating aspirational livelihoods for the rural youth by positioning handmade sectors as viable long-term career options. Various schemes such as the National Handicrafts Development Programme and Comprehensive Handicrafts Cluster Development Scheme, implemented by the Office of the Development Commissioner, support artisans and weavers through financial assistance, skill development, and marketing support.
