MCA Expands Fast Track Merger Scope Under Companies Act
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has amended the Companies (Compromises, Arrangements and Amalgamations) Rules to broaden the scope of fast track mergers under the Companies Act, 2013. The amendments, effective from September 4, 2025, allow mergers between additional classes of companies, including unlisted companies and subsidiaries, to facilitate ease of doing business for small and startup companies.
