Measures to Address Scholarship Irregularities
The Government of India has implemented reforms in the Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship Schemes for Scheduled Castes (SCs) to mitigate irregularities and misuse of funds. These scholarships, operated under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode, directly deposit funds into beneficiaries' Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts. Complaints of irregularities are directed to State/UT administrations for swift action. The schemes are regularly assessed through meetings and field visits to ensure transparency and accountability. The Ministry reports no complaints regarding Scheduled Tribes (STs) scholarship schemes.
