MeitY Introduces 30 kW WBG Drive System to Bolster EV Market

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has launched a 30 kW Wide Band Gap (WBG)-based Integrated Drive System, developed by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing in collaboration with IIT Madras and Lucas TVS. This initiative aims to boost indigenous capabilities in power electronics for electric vehicles, reducing import reliance and enhancing local manufacturing aligned with national PLI schemes.
