Mera Gaon Mera Dharohar Programme Launched by Ministry of Culture

The Ministry of Culture has initiated the Mera Gaon Meri Dharohar (MGMD) programme under the National Mission on Cultural Mapping (NMCM) to document and preserve India's cultural heritage across 6.5 lakh villages. The MGMD portal, launched in June 2023, currently features cultural data from 4.7 lakh villages, including traditions, art forms, and local customs. The initiative aims to empower rural communities and strengthen cultural identity, although no financial assistance has been allocated for its implementation yet.
