Military Nursing Service Officers Granted Ex-Servicemen Status

The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions has amended the Ex-Servicemen (Re-employment in Central Civil Services and Posts) Rules, 1979, to include officers of the Military Nursing Service (MNS). This recognizes their role within the Armed Forces Medical Services and grants them Ex-Servicemen status, allowing access to re-employment and reservation benefits similar to other uniformed services.
