Ministry Enhances Panchayat Infrastructure Amid Digital Push

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj has intensified efforts to enhance the infrastructure of Gram Panchayats under the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) scheme. The initiative aims to support states in providing office infrastructure and digital connectivity to Panchayats, with a particular focus on North Eastern states. As part of this scheme, the government approved the construction of over 13,000 Panchayat Bhawans and procurement of more than 55,000 computers across various states, including Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The initiative is complemented by the BharatNet project, which seeks to provide high-speed internet access to all Gram Panchayats.
