Ministry Initiates AI-Driven Governance with a Focus on Data Security

The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions introduced an AI-led governance strategy aiming to integrate artificial intelligence into government processes. Secretary Rachna Shah emphasized the importance of embedding AI into recruitment, grievance redressal, and employee service delivery, while ensuring strong data safeguards. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) intends to leverage Ai tools like AI Medha, Bhashini, and AI Coach, and has highlighted capacity building as a key focus area through AI courses. Experts cautioned about risks associated with AI, especially concerning data security, urging the need for secure environments for government data handling. The initiative also includes exploring AI’s potential in decision-support systems and workforce management, reinforcing the significance of data confidentiality and secure cloud solutions.
