Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers Advances Pharmaceutical Infrastructure

The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has announced developments in pharmaceutical infrastructure through various initiatives. Despite no provisions for Bulk Drug Parks in the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes, the Promotion of Bulk Drug Parks scheme has budgeted ₹3,000 crore and approved three parks in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, and Himachal Pradesh. These parks will receive Central assistance and fiscal incentives to establish common infrastructure. Tamil Nadu hasn't received approval for a Bulk Drug Park but benefits from the Promotion of Medical Devices Parks scheme and PLI initiatives. Significant updates include the development of medical device parks in Greater Noida, Ujjain, and Kanchipuram, as well as the Promotion of Research and Innovation in Pharma-MedTech Sector (PRIP) with a focus on research and academia-industry collaboration.
