Ministry of Coal Promotes Sustainable Mining Practices

The Ministry of Coal is advancing sustainable coal mining practices through public sector undertakings like Coal India Limited, NLC India Limited, and Singareni Collieries Company Limited. These initiatives include the use of advanced mining technologies, air pollution mitigation measures, and extensive afforestation efforts. From FY 2019-20 to FY 2024-25, approximately 13,400 hectares have been greened, with targets set for future coal production and plantation areas.
