The Ministry of Communications has launched several initiatives to enhance the telecom sector, including the 'Digital Communications Innovation Square (DCIS)' scheme, which supports 126 projects with a budget of ₹108 crore. The BharatNet project aims to provide broadband to all Gram Panchayats, with 2,14,325 GPs already service-ready. Spectrum auctions for 5G services have been conducted, and the Postal Department is digitizing services and collaborating with e-commerce. The Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme aims to boost domestic manufacturing, with significant investments and job creation reported.
