Ministry of Cooperation Enhances Cooperative Sector in Bihar

The Ministry of Cooperation has launched several initiatives under the 'Sahkar Se Samriddhi' vision to strengthen the cooperative sector from the primary level to the apex in Bihar. Major activities include diversifying Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) and establishing a National Cooperative Database. Advances have been made toward establishing multipurpose PACS/dairy/fisheries cooperatives across all villages and computerizing PACS operations nationwide. New national multi-state cooperative societies, such as NCEL, NCOL, and BBSSL, are being developed to connect local cooperatives to national and global markets and value chains.
