Ministry of Cooperation Initiatives for MPACS
The Ministry of Cooperation has launched several initiatives to enhance the financial viability of Multipurpose Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (MPACS) in India, particularly in economically challenged areas. Key measures include establishing 2 lakh new PACS, computerizing existing societies, implementing a large grain storage plan, and promoting financial inclusion through various services. Additionally, the Bhartiya Beej Sahkari Samiti Limited (BBSSL) is collaborating with research organizations to improve seed quality and production, ensuring farmers have access to affordable and certified seeds.
