Ministry of Culture Enforces Conservation of 3686 Protected Sites
The Ministry of Culture announced that 3686 protected monuments and sites are governed under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1958, with ongoing conservation efforts by the Archaeological Survey of India. Instances of unauthorized constructions have been reported and addressed in coordination with local authorities. Entry fees are applicable at only 143 sites, and the conservation and restoration process continues as needed.
