Ministry of Culture Promotes Intellectual Property Awareness
The Ministry of Culture is enhancing awareness and protection of Intellectual Property (IP) related to India's cultural heritage by establishing dedicated IP cells in its academies and centers. These cells aim to educate artists about IP rights, facilitate IP registration, and support Geographical Indication (GI) registration for traditional products. The Sangeet Natak Akademi (SNA) acts as the nodal agency for IP rights, ensuring artists' consent and providing training and performance opportunities to grassroots artists, thereby strengthening India's cultural economy.
